# Does it make sense that flox would take \>3 hours to load (just download and install) on MacOS?

After some issues uninstalling Nix, I was finally able to download and start installing flox for MacOS (Intel processor). It has been running package scripts for over three hours. I was wondering if this is normal and how long I can expect this process to take.

this is not expected. do you know if you have any mobile device managers running on your mac (is this a work computer?) would you be willing to email us your `/var/log/install.log` file? my email is [graham@floxdev.com](mailto:graham@floxdev.com)

I can confirm that I also had this on some early version of Flox on Ubuntu, I straced install script and it was related to nix if I remember correctly. Finding all files related to nix/flox and clearing them helped, but my bash history cleared 😃
