# Flox edit viz flox cat

“Using Packages” introduces `flox edit`.  
It should say that it opens a manifest template in VIM.

I run shells inside emacs, so `flox edit` is not much use to me.

It should also point out `flox cat` as another way to get the template (so one can use the editor of their choice).

`flox edit` apparently uses the `EDITOR` shell variable. So if you set it to `EDITOR=emacs` this might work for you?

`EDITOR="emacs -q" flox edit` did indeed work.
